Biography

Denise Masumoto is the Manager of Corporate Relations at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC), where she leads the coordination and implementation of the Global Affiliates Program. She cultivates meaningful partnerships with APARC’s organizational affiliates across the Asia-Pacific region and develops programming that connects affiliate representatives, scholars, and the Stanford community. 

In addition to her core responsibilities, Denise is known for her people-centered approach to supporting visiting scholars. She plays an active role in fostering community, offering personalized guidance to help visitors navigate Stanford, build networks, and enrich their cultural and professional experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. She designs thoughtful engagement opportunities that strengthen ties across APARC. 

Denise brings a background in hospitality, having worked in catering and convention services in San Francisco and Maui prior to joining Stanford. When she’s not at work, Denise enjoys rooting for the San Francisco Giants, working out at F45 classes, and listening to true crime podcasts. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS in managerial economics.
