Who We Are
The Taiwan Program was established in 2024 at Stanford’s Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) to catalyze interdisciplinary research and teaching about contemporary Taiwan, focusing on economic, social, technological, environmental, and institutional challenges and opportunities Taiwan will face in the coming decades. We seek to deepen connections between scholars, students, and innovators at Stanford University and their counterparts in Taiwan, and to contribute to the next stage of Taiwan’s development and U.S.-Taiwan partnerships.
