Now Hiring: Research Assistant – Japan Program at APARC
The Japan Program at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (Shorenstein APARC) invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join as a Graduate-Level Hourly Research Assistant supporting visiting scholar Niinami Takeshi, Member of the Management Advisory and Evaluation Committee for the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and former CEO of Suntory Holdings Limited.
The RA will assist with research and administrative program activities for the Fall Quarter. The role involves conducting research, preparing presentations, charts, briefing materials, and educational videos, and assisting with the organization and development of resources for various audiences.
The assistant will also provide classroom and audiovisual support, including testing classroom technology, troubleshooting basic AV equipment, coordinating access to films and course reserves, and assisting with copyright and permissions-related matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, organizational, communication, and writing skills, along with basic experience in multimedia and audiovisual technologies. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple academic and administrative tasks are highly valued.
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: December 15, 2026
Hours: 10 hours a week or less.
Hourly Rate: $25.00
