Visiting Scholars Roundtable
Visiting Scholars Roundtable
The Korean Studies Program has hosted monthly roundtable seminars with the visiting scholars since 2005. This seminar has provided opportunities to hear the opinions of and learn about the experiences of practitioners and experts in the field. The speakers are visiting scholars of the Korean Studies Program at Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center.
The seminar is informal and conducted in Korean. It offers unique opportunities to hear unknown stories from the field. This seminar also provides an opportunities for visiting scholars and students to mingle together and share ideas and experiences. After the seminars, the participants often extend their discussions into dinner.
Past speakers have included Won Soon Park, Director of Beautiful Foundation; Hyung-o Kim, Member of the Korean National Assembly; Jae-seung Park, Former President of Korean Bar Association; and, most recently, Tae Hee Lee, Senior Editor of Munhwa Daily gave a talk entitled "Korean Media and Industrial Powers" on Thursday, August 3rd.
The roundtable is open to students and affiliates of the Stanford University who are interested in current issues and trends in Korean society.
