Student Internships
Shorenstein APARC partners with the Freeman Spogli Institute Student Programs to offer Global Policy Internships, summer-long internships that enable Stanford students to work on policy-relevant projects at prominent organizations in Asia. These fellowships emphasize faculty mentorship, provide a stipend, and are open to Stanford undergraduate and master’s students from all majors. Fully funded, they are administered by FSI Student Programs.

The Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation intern will work on one of three projects focused on:
- Mitigating misinformation's impact on public trust in government and implications (i.e., vaccine hesitancy) in Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam
- Studying mental health and wellness in the Asia-Pacific
- Investigating challenges in recruiting and retaining international talent in Taiwan.

The Carnegie India intern will have the opportunity to work on the organization's ongoing Technology and Society/Security Studies program, including work on security studies related to India.

The Asia Foundation, Malaysia intern will work on projects as part of the APAC Cybersecurity Fund Program.

The Economic Policy Research Center interns will have an opportunity to be actively engaged in the organization's work on various projects focused on supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Georgia.

The King Center on Global Development offers Global Development Summer Undergraduate Full-time Research Assistantships to Stanford undergraduates interested in global poverty and development across disciplines. Some opportunities involve projects in Asia-Pacific nations and sometimes involve APARC faculty mentors.

This project pilots and launches controlled clinical trials of the effects of topical emollient therapy on the survival, growth, skin barrier integrity, and incidence of sepsis in hospitalized preterm infants. One country focus of the study is India, along with Zimbabwe and/or Uganda. View the King Center's website for more information and apply via SOLO.

India is one of the focus countries of this internship. Travel is required.
This randomized trial will rigorously measure whether installing concrete floors in homes with soil floors reduces household fecal contamination, child soil-transmitted helminth infection, and child diarrhea in a low-resource, rural setting in Bangladesh. Our findings will provide rigorous, policy-relevant evidence about whether concrete flooring installation should be delivered as a public health intervention to improve child health. The Stanford Global Studies Division offers summer internships that enable Stanford students to gain hands-on experience at major technology companies, media organizations, consulting firms, university hospitals, law offices, museums, and more. They are open to undergraduate students from all majors and years.
