Aligning Incentives for Better Health and More Resilient Health Systems in Asia

Topics include how policymakers can promote mask-wearing, vaccination, and other science-based responses to the pandemic; how hospitals respond to changes in payment incentives; how measuring the value of medical spending could help align incentives to promote value; the predicted mortality impacts of climate change in Asia and making visible the social cost of carbon; and others ranging from nudges for healthy aging to policies on genomic data sharing, retirement decisions, and family planning. From Bangladesh to Bhutan, Beijing to Jakarta, Japan to Vietnam, the series will explore aligning incentives to promote better health and stronger healthcare systems.
