Biography

Koichi Kinouchi is a global affiliate visiting scholar at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (Shorenstein APARC) for 2024-25. Kinouchi has more than 25 years of experience at the Development Bank of Japan, Inc. During that time, he has gained expertise not only in the bank's core functions or providing funding through loans and investments but also in business restructuring. Additionally, he has developed experience in bank management, including human resource management and budgeting. Prior to joining Shorenstein APARC, Kinouchi served as the head of the Secretarial Office, where he oversaw the department and worked closely with the president in a policy advisory role. Kinouchi received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Waseda University, School of Political Science and Economics in 1998. While at APARC, he will be researching the key to business transformation and change in Japanese companies.
