Innovations in Primary Care

clinic newsfeed

The Asia Health Policy Program is hosting a series of events in China and at Stanford during the 2014-15 academic year focusing on the topic of innovations in primary care, thanks to generous support from ACON Biotechnology.

The focus of the series is on how to best strengthen primary care systems in the Asia-Pacific region, including opportunities for health and efficiency improvements that would flow from such strengthening, and opportunity costs of continuing hospital-centric delivery systems. This initiative is especially linked to China's ongoing health system reforms, but aims broadly to gather evidence for effective policy throughout the Asia-Pacific.

The Asia Health Policy Program is particularly delighted to host Dame Anne Mills and others with ability to combine broad thinking on the role of primary care with specific examples of how to harness the private sector toward public health objectives, an interlinked theme of the event series and policy research.

On June 18, 2015, the Asia Health Policy Program at Stanford University in cooperation with ACON Biotechnology will host a conference on community health services and primary health care reform in China, to be held at the Stanford Center at Peking University.
