Biography

Yukio Noguchi is an emeritus professor at Hitotsubashi University. He is currently a visiting professor at Stanford University. He has a B.S. in engineering from the University of Tokyo, an M.A. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.

Before entering the academic world, he worked for the Ministry of Finance of the Japanese Government. He served as a professor at Hitotsubashi University and the University of Tokyo. He also served as the first director of the Institute for Advanced Economic Engineering at the University of Tokyo. He has won such prizes as the Nikkei Bunka-syo, the Mainichi Economist-syo, the Suntory Gakugei-syo, the Kagami Zaidan-syo, the Japan Association for Real Estate Study Prize, and the Yoshino Sakuzo-syo for his books.
