With China’s rise, the U.S.-centered postwar order in East Asia is in crisis.  Regional disputes about issues of history, territory, maritime control, airspace, military alliances, and nuclear weapons are intensifying as the U.S.-PRC strategic rivalry grows. How are North and South Korea responding to this historic development? South Korean scholar Lee Su-hoon, an international relations adviser to the late President Roh Moo-hyun, will compare and contrast the views and positions of the two Koreas sandwiched between the great powers. Lee received a PhD in comparative international development and sociology from Johns Hopkins University.
