2017 Oksenberg Lecture - Amb. Max Baucus on U.S.-China Relations: Avoiding the Trap
Held annually, the Oksenberg Lecture honors the legacy of Professor Michel Oksenberg (1938-2001) who served as both a leading scholar on China as well as a key member of the National Security Council when the U.S. normalized relations with the People’s Republic of China.
In 2017, the Oksenberg Lecture was given by Max S. Baucus who served as U.S. ambassador to the P.R.C. under the Obama Administration from Feb. 21, 2014 until Jan. 19, 2017. His remarks were entitled “On U.S.-China Relations: Avoiding the Trap.” His keynote address also launched the Tenth Anniversary celebration of the China Program at Shorenstein APARC.
